Pearl Fey was very sure she had everything she needed. Maybe there was a better way to phrase that: she was already given everything she would need- at least, this is what she thought. It was all in the pack. She didn't know if she'd need more than that. She didn't bother looking into it- or it was more so that she had difficulty reading the guide and handbook she had received. There were pictures, yes, but not many, making it very difficult for her to understand what the entire thing meant. She didn't know Spoink could level up or learn moves or any of that, either! Nor did she really know where she was going, except onward. There was yet another important factor to add onto this, and that was that she didn't know about the tall grass and the fact wild Pokemon could come out and attack her.

So, it was no surprise that she shrieked when she saw a wild Pidgey swoop past her. Which caused the Pidgey to panic. Which caused Pearl to panic. Which caused them both to panic while Spoink bounced up and down in this 'I'm ready to fight, but I don't know what to do' kind of way. So there's a little girl panicking and running away while a panicked Pidgey chases her with intent to harm, and a Spoink bounces after the duo.

If you see her, please help. She needs it. Really.

[ After fiddling 'round with her 'gear after having found the Pokedex in it, Pearl replies, reading aloud the two moves she had remembered seeing as best as she could. ]

Splash and Extra-sense-or-ee, I think. What do they do? [ As she only checked the names, not the descriptions. Sigh Pearl sometimes. ]

Extrasensory is a psychic attack. It will inflict damage on a wild Pokemon and has a chance to make them flinch so they don't attack you back.

[Luckily Yukiko works at the Breeding Centre and has learnt these things.]
